Abstract: In this work a revised study of the compactified 5D Kaluza-Klein ( KK ) model is performed. At first, it is proved the compatibility of ADM slicing with respect to the KK reduction and the Hamiltonian formulation of the model is therefore obtained: this analysis envisages how the Gauss constraint arises as a particular case of supermomenta constraints; moreover, it is shown that the hamiltonian constraint can be solved with respect to the conjugate momentum of the metric scalar field, thu
